Neither a poem, nor a prose...

Last night, my heart was burning so much, that I could not sleep and I wanted to cry out really loud.
I got up from my bed, sat by the window pane and looked up to the sky, in search of a star.
The sky was black; there was not a single star.
I looked at the dark sky, immersed deep in my thoughts.
I could not control myself, tears came rolling down.
All of a sudden I saw a light, shining bright in the sky at midnight.
Yes it was the beautiful moon, the only companion I had last night.
One thing that kept on lingering in my mind was, few minutes of happiness was sucked out by hours of loneliness.
Whenever I get this feeling, I try to make myself understand, that this is not a permanent feeling, but after a few days, it’s the same old situation again.
No matter what, I will never give up; I will pray to God, to give me the strength and help me change myself and make me a better, lovable person.
I came back to bed; lay on my side, looked out of the window and admired the beauty of the moon.
I wished my friend good night; I gently closed my eyes and my mind flew off to the world of dreams of my love..

I feel...

I feel so lonely

With so many around

I feel so weird

With so many near me.

I don’t know why

But I see myself

Way beneath my friends

Worthy to none.

Why do I feel

So lonely and sad

When you are there

To love me true.

I wish I could spend

My life with you

With none around

But only you. 

Marriage

People say that arranged marriage is better than love marriage. Parents have much more experience in life than we do and they know what’s good for us. During their time, the bride and the bridegroom did not have a chance to meet or talk, until they got married. Even though they are going through many difficulties, they are adjusting with each other to their maximum. But, that is not the case with the present generation. Now, people have their own ambitions and aspirations. They have their own point of view and opinions about their future life. The youngsters do not prefer to have a life partner who is a total stranger to them. They would like to interact with the other person and find out if he/she is suitable for them.

Arranged marriage is good in certain ways. You get the full support of your family if anything goes wrong. Family members go around and inquire about the family background and social status of the bride or bridegroom before fixing the alliance. But this relation may not exist for long. Just want to mention an example of an arranged marriage which ended up in a disaster, due to an unexpected shocking reason given by the bridegroom. The fellow’s friends used to tease him saying that no girl would want to marry him, as he was bald. So, he agreed to marry a girl and prove his friends wrong. 2 months after he got married, he told the girl that now he got bored of her and also why he got married. I would like to mention another example of a woman who was in love with her cousin but still agreed to marry another fellow. Following the instructions and support given by her cousin, she married the guy of her parents’ choice. After a few weeks, she eloped with her cousin after taking all the money and jewelry she could. These are few exceptional cases where arranged marriage ends up in a disaster.

Love marriage is considered to be a sin in our society. I wonder why. In most of the cases, parents are against love marriage. But at times, it turns out to be good. Love marriage doesn't exactly mean love at first sight and then immediately deciding to get married. It means to know each other for quite a while n then decide to become life partners. There are families which still survive without any problems, in spite of the fact that their marriage was not arranged. An example to site is a Hindu girl married to a Jewish guy, an Indian guy married to a Chinese girl, an Indian guy married to a Slovenian girl, etc. They are living happily. As usual there were some exceptional cases, which did not end up so well either. Some of the examples are like, the girl not being able to handle the guy’s uncontrollable drinking habits, the guy not being able to bear the girl’s stubbornness, etc. There may be several other examples like these.

There may be reasons as to why people are against marriage. They may think so because of the environment they were brought up, or may be due to the wrong notions they have in their mind about the whole concept of marriage. You really need a partner with whom you can spend your life; sharing your opinions, suggestions, joys and sorrows. You can’t be alone for the whole of your life. There is a limit to which you can share your feelings with your friends or parents. Friends, be it arranged or love marriage, if you are destined to have that one person, you will get him/her.
